Family Wealth Cards: a card game for every kind of wealth
Money is one kind of wealth. Health, friends, a calm mind and free time are others. Each card is a small habit kids can do this week, in eight suits that match the eight dimensions of the What Is My Wealth Score? assessment.

Needs or Wants
A need is something you must have to live and stay safe. A want is something nice to have. Look at the card and choose.

The main deck has 54 cards: a title card, 48 habit cards (six in each suit), 2 wild cards and 3 rules cards. The Needs or Wants deck adds 18 more.
Print the deck
- Use card stock or thick paper if you have it, at 100% scale (not "fit to page").
- For backs, print double-sided and flip on the long edge.
- Cut along the thin gray lines. Each card is 2.5 by 3.5 inches, the size of a regular playing card.
Free to print for home and classroom use. Every card shows where it came from: whatismywealthscore.com/cards.
How to play
Family Wealth Hand (ages 5 and up)
- Shuffle the habit and wild cards. Each player draws five.
- During the week, do as many of your cards as you can. Grown-ups help with the cards that need one.
- At the end of the week, add the points on the cards you did, plus 1 bonus point for every different suit.
- The highest score wins. Shuffle and deal a new hand for next week.
Needs or Wants (ages 4 and up)
- Hold up a Needs or Wants card and say "need" or "want".
- Flip the card upside down to read the answer at the bottom.
- Talk about the tricky ones: shoes are a need, but a famous brand is a want.
Grown-ups can see how their own household is doing across the same eight dimensions with the free Wealth Score assessment. For two of the Safety cards, see the family safe word guide and the go bag checklist.
Common questions
What ages are Family Wealth Cards for?
The habit cards suit kids from about 5 to 12 playing with a grown-up. Younger children can start with Needs or Wants, and older kids can read the cards on their own and invent wild cards.
How do I print the cards?
Pick a set under Print the deck and press Print. Each sheet holds nine poker-size cards (2.5 by 3.5 inches) and fits US Letter or A4. For backs, print double-sided, flip on the long edge, and cut along the gray lines. Card stock works best.
How is a hand scored?
Add the points in the corners of each card you finished, then add 1 bonus point for every different suit you did. The bonus rewards balance, because wealth is more than money.
Is anything about my family saved or sent?
No sign-in is needed. Your current hand is kept only in this browser so you can tick cards off during the week, and nothing you choose is sent to us.
